Here are some of the questions we are regularly asked about u-nu, but if you can’t find the answers you are looking for feel free to email us.
Naturally you can use u-nu outside; in fact we’d actively encourage it. Don’t leave it outside though, as it is made from a special wood based material, while this material is water repellent it’s not waterproof. This means that prolonged exposure to water can cause it to swell. If it swells the slots can become too tight making it very difficult to use.
We’ve made u-nu out of a non-toxic material for exactly this reason. The material has been tested and it is compliant with EN-71 European standards for safety in toys. Given the size of the pieces, I seriously doubt anyone could choke on it, but it is a very hard material so please be aware that it could damage teeth.
It is, very much so, and we’re very proud of it. Each u-nu piece is cut and hand finished in the UK by a reputable, well-respected company that also makes components for Cavendish Piano’s. The material itself is made in Portugal from the waste created by FSC approved sawmills. They don’t bleach the material. The company only use ethically sourced organic dyes to provide the colour. It is packaged in recycled-recyclable or biodegradable packaging (no plastic bags or bubble wrap).
There is a 30-day money back guarantee from the day you receive your set. If your children don’t like it (never happened) just return it and we’ll refund you.
